For a year now we have been involved in the mentoring of this Brisbane artist. His name is Jonathan Cajepe. Jonathan came from a troubled life on the streets when we met him at the Salvation Army Youth Outreach Service (YOS). We knew he loved art, so we decided to teach him how to become an artist and chase a creative career. We hardly had to teach him anything, he got up and made it all happen himself with a generous grant from Visible Ink.
I took this shot of Jonathan while I was teaching him photography in the Valley one night. He is now studying to become a graphic designer.
